At Pleasant Bay, we do not simply follow the commonly held precepts of standardized nursing care.

It's not that we are unaware of the standard approaches adopted by nursing home chains and other facilities with absentee ownerships. It's simply that we choose to follow our own conscience as to how our patients should be able to live.

We understand the fragility, the worry, the uncertainty that many seniors and their families face when it comes time to accept that their health and well-being would be enhanced by a move to a skilled nursing home.

That leads us to the little details that make life so pleasant here. Meals of fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh native fish, homemade soups, breads and cookies. A full schedule of daily activities. An environment of people of all ages, children from our day care center, even visiting pets. Sprawling gardens and spacious lounges and sunrooms. Completely individualized care plans.
